HELP STOP VETERAN HUNGER
The Louisiana Flavor Homeless Veterans Feeding-Nutrition Program Organization is dedicated to raising awareness about the plight of homeless veterans in our country. Throughout the year, we actively engage with the public to fundraise and spread awareness within our communities. The numbers are stark: between 130,000 and 200,000 veterans are homeless on any given night in America, making up a significant portion of the overall homeless population. Many more face excessive rent burdens, placing them at risk of homelessness.
The future poses additional challenges. Women veterans and those with disabilities, including PTSD and traumatic brain injuries, are particularly vulnerable. Many veterans returning from current conflicts face these conditions. Despite comprising only 34% of the general adult male population, approximately 40% of homeless men are veterans. The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans estimates that 200,000 veterans are homeless on any given night, and 400,000 will experience homelessness in a year. The Department of Veterans Affairs reports that 97% of these homeless veterans are male.
Through our efforts, we aim to shed light on these pressing issues and provide essential support to our veterans.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to ensure that every homeless veteran across the nation receives nutritious meals, essential support, and comprehensive
care, fostering their well-being and dignity. We are committed to providing
consistent, healthy food options, advocating for their needs, and collaborating
with communities and organizations to address the root causes of hunger and
homelessness among our veterans. Since 2016, we have been dedicated to honoring
their service by restoring hope and improving their quality of life through
compassionate and sustained nourishment. In addition to providing meals, we
assist with housing, education, job training, and overall care, empowering
veterans to rebuild their lives and achieve self-sufficiency. Through our
collaborative efforts, we strive to create a supportive network that addresses
the diverse needs of veterans, ensuring they receive the respect and
